National School sports week

Representatives from the Howard School, Sports Partnership visited Hempstead Valley on 29th & 30th June to celebrate National School Sport week.

Nearly 14,000 schools and 5 million children took part in Britain's biggest school sporting event between 28 June to 2 July.

Schools across Britain created an exciting week-long celebration of school sport, bringing the magic and anticipation of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to their schools, inspiring more young people to do more sport.

Delivered by the Youth Sport Trust, Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week is a week-long sporting celebration for primary and secondary schools - this year from 28 June to 2 July.

Registered schools are given all the resources they need to generate interest and activities for pupils of all ages. It not only helps fulfil school objectives for PE and Sport, but can be used across the curriculum to create excitement around the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

92% of schools who took part in 2009 said the week inspired more pupils to do more sport.
